VOLUNTEER CO-ORDINATOR – INTERNSHIP
Unpaid Role, 20 – 30 hours per week, for 1 - 2 years
Amina-MWRC is seeking to recruit a confident, inspiring and highly motivated individual for an Internship in the role of Volunteer Co-ordinator to oversee the recruitment, support, supervision and retention of our volunteers for the many services and activities that exist within our organization.
This would be an ideal opportunity for someone who is seeking to gain work experience or for someone with a wealth of experience and can therefore bring added value to our organisation.
Reasonable travel and childcare expenses will be met.

ROLE DESCRIPTION
Main Responsibilities:
The recruitment and induction of new volunteers
Matching the volunteers to a role in accordance to their skill set and/or interests
Provide regular support and supervision to volunteers
Ensure adequate cover in the absence of regular volunteers
Deal with any problems incurred by volunteers which is related to their role
Keep up to date records and monitoring of the work done by volunteers
Identify training needs of the volunteers
Deal with and respond quickly to queries from potential volunteers
Develop a strategy for the retention of volunteers
Ensure effective communication between staff and volunteers
Provide opportunities for the recognition of the valued contribution our volunteers bring to MWRC
Attend and contribute to staff meetings
Essential Skills
Experience of working or volunteering for the voluntary sector
Ability to motivate individuals
Experience of mentoring
Patient and non-judgemental
Effective communicator with women from a diverse range of cultural backgrounds
Good organizer
Ability to work on your own initiative
Clear written and spoken English skills
Desirable Skills
Commonly spoken Minority Ethnic Language
Creative thinker
