Mechanical Design Engineer
A Mechanical Design Engineer is required to join an established team within the Marine Refrigeration business in Glasgow.
Successful candidates will need to have developed significant skills working with refrigeration and air-conditioning equipment, particularly in the Marine sector as there is a strict set of codes and practises that apply to this sector.
As a result, the role demands a high level of technical and financial responsibility, together with the ability to work with customers, engineers, sub contractors, suppliers and in-house resources to ensure technical quotations and resulting projects are completed on time and budget.
Duties will include:
- Produce system designs and costings for marine refrigeration plants and water chillers.
- Plan, manage, monitor and control individual projects.
- Assist in achieving or exceeding sales margins whilst ensuring technical and contractual security of marine projects.
Qualifications:
- You will hold an ONC (or equivalent) in mechanical or electrical engineering and have knowledge of the regulations and standards applicable to refrigeration plant and electrical/electronic controls & systems.
Experience:
- You must be able to read and understand engineering and electrical drawings.
- Have knowledge of thermodynamics, pipe and vessel calculations/selection and general refrigeration systems design.
- You must have a good knowledge of computer systems.
