Our Client is one of the largest power companies in the UK and they are currently seeking a power systems design engineer to work in their high voltage projects department. The role offered is a permanent position and is based in Glasgow. The role will include;

· Development of and providing advice on power system and renewable generation network design

· Determination and evaluation of proposals for generation network connections at voltage levels from llkV to 400kV

· Design, assessment/evaluation and optimisation of renewable generation electrical infrastructure.

· Assessment/evaluation and optimisation of renewable generation electrical system characteristics and performance.

· Protection grading studies for renewable generation systems



Candidate Specifications:



· An electrical background is essential.

· You will have suitable experience of power system design issues and policy, including grid code, security & quality of supply standards.

· Experience in design packages such as PSSE, CDEGS and ERACS is essential.

· Previous experience designing for renewable energy projects will be advantageous.

· Suitable knowledge of protection relay systems and grid connections.

· Candidates should possess a relevant qualification, preferably a university degree and/or qualification leading to chartered engineer status and membership of the IET.



Pay is negotiable depending on experience.
