CIVIL PLANNER - SCOTLAND - EXCITING OPPORTUNITY - NEGOTIABLE PACKAGE

Our client is a major multi-disciplinary contractor. As their Civil Engineerin Division continues to grow and develop they are looking for an enthusiastic Planner to assist the Planning Dept. This position will be key in providing a quality support service to the Construction Team. Preference will be given to applicants with a strong civil engineering background.
The Planner will be responsible for day to day Planning duties.
The Planner shall:
Prepare and update as required the programmes necessary for the execution of the works.
Prepare and update as necessary the programmes required to monitor the progress of the works.
Provide input to progress reports for the Client's progress meetings.
Work in close liaison with the Site Manager to monitor the progress of the works.
Work in close liaison with the Project Quantity Surveyor and advise the impact to progress and programme of variations instructed by the Client and delays to sub-contract works.
Manage the flow of information from the Design Team and advise the Contracts Manager of any impact to progress and programme.
Set up & maintain the Contract Drawing Register and ensure all documents are received, recorded and distributed.
Ensure all documents for Contractor Designed Elements are recorded, distributed and forwarded for approval.
Advise the Contracts Manager of all matters, which have an impact the programme.
Ensure the quality procedures in respect to his/her duties are implemented.
Prepare and update Information Release Schedules
Provide necessary information to the Procurement Department to enable the Procurement of Materials & Subcontractors (i.e. Drawings, Specification details, BOQ pages and programme.
Schedule Materials (as agreed with the Contracts Manager & Site Manager)
Provide support to the Estimating Department as required.
Provide input as required for Tender Submissions.
Research alternative products or systems
Prepare handover documents
Provide input to project debrief.
Introduce improvements where appropriate to areas of responsibility.
Periodically review projects with Contracts Manager / Director.
