Drum Tuition for children and adults.

Date posted: Friday 18th July
Location: Glasgow

Hi,

Thanks for taking time to read about learning the drums.

Learn to play the drums and cymbals in the comfort of your own home, with a patient, friendly and enthusiastic drummer and music lover of 24 years.

My musical influences include: Rock, Pop, Country, Folk, Soul, Funk, Punk, Grunge, Gospel, Jazz, Van Morrison, Ray Charles, Dylan, Stevie Wonder, Bowie, Elvis Costello, Sly & the Family Stone,Frank Zappa, The Rolling Stones, Screaming Trees, Buffalo Tom and Pavement and the list goes on... I'm currently recording and gigging with a Glasgow singer song writer.

I have experience of teaching children and adults in private and school settings, including pre 5, primary and secondary school. I also organise drumming workshops for youth clubs, summer schools etc, at competitive rates. I therefore hold an advanced disclosure Scotland document.

I cater for different learning styles and like to make drumming accessible to all.

I can come to you with equipment and stay in the Southside of Glasgow.

My tuition also includes learning how to read drum music, which is a valued skill in the music world.

I'm relatively flexible with weekends and evenings suiting me best.

My fee is £20 per hour

Hope to hear from you soon

Please see the below reference from a current student.

REUBEN MILLWARD

Prior to Xmas last year whilst in a Drum Shop buying my nephew his first kit, I found my teenage ambition to play resurface, and at age of 48 left the store with 2 Rock kits complete with everything to get started.

After a few lessons in a studio environment (didnt work for me, I felt tense and self concious ) I found an ad for home tuition locally and met Reuben.

From my first lesson with Reuben I felt completely at ease , being at home and using my own kit , getting a little warm up before he arrived, and Reubens encouraging enthusiasm gave me the confidence to relax , play better and have fun !

Reuben is very astute he observes , gives praise and offers suggestions , he very quickly helped me find the right settings and layout for my kit which made a big difference .

I find when Im having difficulty with something he's always able to break it down , simplify the problem , demonstrate the sound , the emphasis and the value of the notes and I very quickly have a "light bulb" moment .

Reuben has inspired me to put in the practice you need when learning any instrument and I look forward every week to our lesson, most important its fun , I enjoy it and get a great deal of satisfaction when I master another element.
