Why rent when you can buy?
There are a number of shared equity schemes available where you can get onto the Housing Ladder without a deposit.
The LIFT shared equity scheme is run by the Scottish government and helps mainly 1st time buyers get onto the housing ladder. You take a share of between 60% and 80% of the value of the property and the government own the rest. You can then buy the government share in the future.
This is a open market scheme where you can buy any property in any area, subject to criteria.
Available across Scotland in all council areas.
There are other shared equity schemes available through Housing Associations and through Builder's.
