Graduate Trainee Sports Marketing

Established in 2002 Square Media is a small, independent sports marketing agency specialising in sports advertising, marketing, sponsorship and signage/branding.

We sell pitchside, sports advertising space across a number of Scottish Premier League football clubs to a diverse range of clients across many sectors. Due to securing an exciting new contract your role will be responsible for selling the advertising sales space across many SPL clubs.

We are seeking a graduate trainee to work alongside the Managing Director at our modern, friendly office in Ayr to drive new business forward and introduce new clients to this exciting advertising medium. This role would run until the end of the current season (May 2010) thereafter the situation would be reviewed depending on success.

This role would ideally suit a graduate who is keen to gain experience to forward their career, you will be rewarded by way of commission on sales (*THIS IS NOT A SALARIED ROLE AT THIS STAGE). This role will provide you with excellent grounding and experience within a friendly, relaxed working environment. There is scope to grow with our business if you have the right attitude and in line with this salary would be reviewed at regular intervals.

This is not a heavy, pressurised sales role, we are far more interested in developing, building and maintaining relationships with key clients.

Key Responsibilities

* Making outbound cold calls to businesses across the UK
* Managing your time and prioritising workload
* Developing, building and maintaining a sales database
* Forwarding our sales PDF brochure to clients via email and directing them
to our sales website
* Maintaining a friendly relationship with current and potential clients

Person Specification:

* Recent graduate keen to develop their CV with real work experience
* Good PC skills, Ideally MS Office
* Ability to use the internet and e-mail
* Friendly, confident and polite telephone manner
* Football fan with a keen interest in general sports
* Ability to work in a small team
* Ability to organise and prioritise workload
