Our client, a growing organisation with their head office based in Glasgow, are searching for a SQL DBA to join their team.



The successful applicant will be highly proficient in a DBA capacity supporting both SQL 2000 and 2005 databases.

 

Other platform knowledge would also be helpful, as would experience in development such as T-SQL and PL/SQL.



The main focus of the role is to support the SQL 2000 and SQL 2005 environment, performing the full range of administrative activities including installing new patches and releases, performing operational fixes, carrying out operational checks to identify problem areas, and aid with any server builds that are required. As with any DBA role, there is a strong focus on implementing and maintaining the organisations disaster recovery plan, and the maintenance of database security method, as well as performance monitoring and tuning. The role will also require the successful candidate to have experience of generating reports using Crystal Reports.
