Depute Manager
The role
* The depute manager will work alongside the registered manager and in the absence of the registered manager will assume overall responsibility for ensuring that:
* Parents, carers, children, young people and staff have the opportunity to contribute as appropriate to the evaluation of the service.
* Staff are involved in setting and achieving clear goals aimed at improving the service, and that reports outlining the performance of the service are made available to all stakeholders.
* Regular audits and quality control checks are completed and any agreed actions are put into practice.
* The organisational policies and procedures meet all legal requirements and agreed standards, for the service and into practice. including training whistle-blowing and managing risk;
* They take a lead role in the recruitment of staff and volunteers ensuring that this is done
* Staff are encouraged to gain the qualifications required for registration with the SSSC.
* Ensure that they establish and maintain good and effective communication partnerships and networks with all relevant parties.
Experience Required
* A qualification as determined by the SSSC for registration; such as a relevant professional
qualification and /or an SVQ 4 in Social Care
* A minimum of 3 years practical
experience working directly
with children with complex
support needs
* Be able to demonstrate a working knowledge
of current statutory requirements, Care Commission standards, registration requirements and the SSSC Codes of Practice
* Demonstrate your ability to manage, motivate and support staff teams on an ongoing basis and through periods of change.
* Be able to demonstrate an ability to assess and manage risk.
* SVQ Assessor qualification
