All residents of cumbernaulds 12 high rise flats have been informed that these flats are earmarked for demolition.
It will be a 10 year project with the first flat to be brought down in 3 years.
As this was only announced after I posted the ad, I have waited for further information before ammending.......unfortunatley as would be expected the information is slow in being forthcoming. All I know is as a logistical first for the CHP they will aim for taking down the smallest block in 3 years. 1/2 bedroom houses and or low rise flats will replace existing sites (no more than 4 floors). All tennants are to be consulted as to what requirements the feel should be met by the new build ie. outside space, gardens and parking, accessability (all housing association residents will be rehomed in these properties). Everything is still at the negotiating table at this stage due to the home owners (60% of flats are privatlely owned). They have an argument over the shared equity proposition. Disturbance allowances will be allocated.

Looking for either a 1 or 2 bedroom tenement flat (preferably 1) within a 5 mile radius of glasgow city although I'm open to all possibilities!
The flat is of a good size with 2 bedrooms, galley style kitchen, bathroom and living room. There are 12 floors in block and this one is 7 up with views to the northwest and northeast (beautiful sunsets!). Great neighbours. Recently decorated with some work still to do (I understand that folks don't really want highrise flats so am not that optomistic that i'll be moving soon due to the type and not the interior). Full double glazing throughout with storage heaters.
Situated in a prime location for all amenities (shopping mall, doctors dentist, schools, sports centre oh and the bingo!) and green areas with a bus stop (to glasgow) conviently placed right outside block.
This flat would suit a wide variety of folks from single/couple with child to someone older looking for a quieter life.
I've grown up in cumbernauld and grown out of it as I have no kids and really wish for a bit more excitment or at least a change of scenery.
