Glasgow Korfball Team Players Wanted

Date posted: Sunday 6th July
Location: Glasgow South Side

The Glasgow Korfball Team formed last year and is looking for more players (age 18+) to extend the team and allow us to enter 2 teams into the league next season. If you have never played Korfball before, dont worry we have beginners coming along all the time intrigued about what Korfball is and finding out they really like it. Korfball is a basket sport involving 8 players in a team (4 men and 4 women). The game is a mixture of basket ball and netball plus a whole lot more and is great fun. The focus is on team work and strategy. For more details check out our website or google korfball or youtube it and you will find out how widespread the sport is. There is a Scottish league, English league and Welsh league. The game is worldwide and UK tournaments are held throughout The summer. The game is played all year, indoor during Autumn/Winter/Spring via league games and outdoors in the summer via tournaments.

We are a friendly lot and believe in a good social calendar. The great thing about korfball is you dont need any previous experience you can learn it all by coming to the club. For more info email glasgow.korfball@yahoo.co.uk or check out our club website on www.glasgowkorfballclub.co.uk.

Training is every Wednesday 7.45pm - 9pm at Shawlands Academy 31 Moss-side Road, in the Southside of Glasgow the sports hall is accessed via Ravenswood Drive (first righ after the Granary and Destiny Church then first right again). Training is normally followed by a well deserved drink in the Waverly Tea Rooms. First training session is free then thereafter it is £3 (this is to help cover the hall cost hire).

Go on give it a try!
