Glasgow flat share wanted

PhD student seeking flatmate from September

Hello,

I'm planning to move to Glasgow for the 3rd year of my PhD, and would like to find a flatmate (I'm currently living in Edinburgh). I'm looking for either a flat-hunting partner or someone with a spare room -- and for the latter I'm more interested in the person than the room! (which I guess is weird on this website)

About me:

27-year-old female, non-smoker, clean & reasonably tidy, a pretty good cook. Friendly, optimistic, creative, energetic, hard-working, open-minded, reliable, responsible, curious. I love dancing, reading, writing, music, outdoor pursuits, stimulating conversation, and learning new things. A novice gardener, DIY-er, and techie. An occasional baker, seamstress, and kite flyer. Gay-friendly, eco-friendly, leftwing, etc. Not vegetarian but not a big meat-eater either. A bit of a night owl (usually writing), but I'm quiet about it. Passionate about what matters, pretty laid-back about everything else. Not into wild parties, loud music, TV, video games, or excessive drama, though I do enjoy having friends around for meals, chats, music sessions, etc.

The kind of flatmate I'm seeking:

Someone who's happy with their life, mature enough to share a nice stable flat, intelligent enough to have interesting conversations, with some knowledge of the world beyond sport and fashion. Respectful, reliable, clean & tidy, good communication skills, etc. I'd love to share meals on a regular basis, so I guess cooking ability is important, but I'm really not that picky. I'd prefer a fellow postgrad for council tax purposes -- and someone who understands the demands of academia! But I'm also open to sharing with a cool responsible person of any career path, or possibly an undergrad who's mature for their age. Male or female, straight or gay, etc. No tories or control freaks, please.

My ideal flat:

A warm and welcoming oasis, quiet and peaceful, tidy and un-chaotic. Ideal location would be in the west end, close to the subway, in a leafy and quiet neighbourhood. Decent size with a bit of storage space, and as sunny as possible. I don't have any pets, but I'm very open to them (especially dogs), along with lots of lovely plants. I can afford up to about £350 including bills, though of course I'd prefer cheaper. I'd very much like to share a home with someone, rather than being just a "lodger."

So, if you're still reading and you think you might want to search for a flat with me (or if you've got a spare room that I might be a good match for), please get in touch with some information about yourself and what you're looking for -- more than one line, please!

Thanks!
