www.givabit.org.uk has been set up to give people a new way to raise money for great causes over the internet. For example, every time you search the internet through givabit, you'll raise roughly 0.4p for charity. Millions of web searches are performed every day and by getting people to start searching through givabit, we have the potential to raise millions for some very worthwhile causes.

givabit will soon give you three ways to raise money for charity but at the moment we're promoting the search function of our site. We're looking for volunteers to help promote the site in every way imaginable. By spreading the word and getting new people to set givabit as their homepage, you'll be helping to raise more money for a very worthwhile cause.

Though we're happy to provide volunteers with marketing materials and event suggestions, we're giving them the flexibility to come up with new and imaginative ways to publicise the site. This means that you'll be responsible for management, publicity and planning of your own campaigns!

The prototype site is already up and running with a new site launch planned for the new year. Volunteers can either start now to slowly build the body of users using the prototype, or in the new year, when we hope to make givabit mainstream.
