Glasgow home swap
From North West London to Scotland, Large 1 bed traditional house conversion
Spacious 1 bed conversion.
Whole ground floor of Victorian terrace house. (built 1846). Well preserved/modernised. Has lovely private patio/garden space - great for barbecues/relaxing/escaping city.
If you feel like going out, all of London within easy access - tube/trains/bus stops few mins walk. Trendy West Hampstead 7 mins walk. Kilburn (where the trendies like to slum it, and has a few good Irish pubs), 5 mins walk. Hampstead Heath 30mins walk/10 on the train.
Own front door entrance.
Front room has bay windows - original sash. (no double glazing, as conservation rules don't allow, but we've had effective draft-proofing fitted) -
Sitting/dining room is large enough for 4 person sofa, armchairs, table and 6 chairs, shelving in alcoves, and still plenty space to move around.
Potential to open up fireplace between alcoves.
Small courtyard outside front room, which gives privacy from road and room for more plants/bins/whatever takes your fancy.
Nice bedroom at rear faces into garden, so is quiet at all times. Bedroom also has custom built 4 door wardrobe and office space in alcove which can be screened off at night (and a double bed).
Kitchen , a bit old-fashioned, but is a nice room, facing the garden - more 'country cottage' than 'inner city'. - Holds all the usual (washing machine/cooker/fridge freezer), plus table/chairs/welsh dresser, and enough space to cook/eat/move. Also, small shelved pantry off kitchen for storage.
Back door of kitchen leads directly on to patio, which is extra eating space in summer months.
Wall to ceiling storage spaces/bookshelves in hallway which runs length of flat.
Bathroom smallish but well designed with large linen cupboard, bath/shower and toilet.
Been a great home for past 16 years - but - family commitments mean need to return home to Scotland.
Looking for flat with garden/patio/yard within 50 miles of Edinburgh/Glasgow. (No to high-rises, big council estates.) - Will happily consider other parts of Scotland for the right swap. Must have at least part outside space for own use, with direct access. Must be a good size, as we want to take most of our furniture with us.
Rent/council tax approx £430 per month all-in.
Right to Buy.
Good investment for those who want to buy. No drop in the market round here, next door sold for astronomical amount last month.
For council/housing association swap only. Will not entertain private sector chancers (you know who you are!)
Willing to wait for similar/different good swap. Multi-swaps also welcome. Further details and photos emailed at your request.
