The Event

MINTED - On Friday 6th November we are holding an exclusive private party for 250 people prior to the opening of the venue. Each person will be welcomed with a champagne reception, chocolates and can walk away with £1000 on the night. The idea is for them to solve various cryptic clues that will be read out as part of a script and work the room chatting to people to solve these clues which will lead someone to our decoy who appears to be playing the same game as everyone else, but is actually holding the £1000.

The evening is gangster based with a twist and is based on lies and deceit. It has a black and gold theme and looks like it will be a great success. Tickets will be sold via Ticket Web and is already looking like it is going to be a sell out.

Your role

We have a professional script writer on board, who is putting together a script that will be read out at various points throughout the night, along with the clues that people must solve to lead them to the £1000.

We need 4 actors to take on the roles of the characters below. Your role will be to adopt the persona of that character for the evening, work the room and for the entire event become this person. You must stand out and entertain and interact with the crowd as a distraction to the game itself. It is important that you can stay in character for the evening and can make yourself stand out.

There will be no-lines given to you, as you must simply be able to take on the character and work with the role throughout the night.

Before applying it is important that you read the character descriptions and traits of the characters and if you think you can take on one of these roles we would love to hear from you.

The event itself is a pilot scheme, therefore we are unable to pay you on this occasion but based on the success of this event it may develop and be held on a bimonthly basis so this could develop into a large chunk of work.

Whether you are a budding actor or someone who already has experience under your belt, we would love to hear from you. This is great opportunity to enhance your CV and gain some live experience.

Character A - Female, late 20’s-early 30’s Females, aged 26 to 32 from the United Kingdom A: Female, late 20’s-early 30’s. A is an extremely fussy woman who worries about everything. Mousy, plain, but with a little polish could be quite sexy. She is an electronics expert, and is quite knowledgeable in regards to technology. She is an avid darts player, and suffers from Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. She is constantly fussing with her clothes, picking up and rearranging things, and fussing with her clothing, smoothing it out and picking lint off of herself. She speaks in a very precise and detailed manner. She is nervous, and her eyes are constantly scanning the room.

Character B - Male, early to mid 20’s Males, aged 20 to 25 from the United Kingdom (B) is Laid back, easygoing, but cocky to the point of arrogance. The getaway driver for all the capers. He is a flashy dresser, and talks about himself constantly. Not only knowledgeable about cars, but has an encyclopaedic knowledge of music. Engaging him in either of these two subjects will start him chatting non-stop. He is prone to exaggeration, so it is best to approach what he says with a grain of salt. Loves to be the centre of attention to the point of annoyance.

Character C - Female, early to mid 30’s Females, aged 30 to 35 from the United Kingdom Sexy, smart, sophisticated, and knows it. She was the con artist who cased a location to check on its security. A former theatrical actress, she found the lure of easy money appealing. She had a very posh upbringing in girls’ boarding school, and loves to use her grasp of foreign languages any chance she gets. She is not above using her looks and sex appeal to get her way. She makes an entrance coming and going, with a flair for the dramatic. She loves peppering anything she says with innuendo, so almost all of her comments are suggestive, if not outright sexual. She has to always touch someone’s arm while speaking.

Character D - Male, mid to late 30's Males, aged 33 to 39 from the United Kingdom Most mysterious of the group. The hired muscle and heavy if things went wrong. He is ex- military, and knows all there is to know about weapons and tactics. Has quite a knowledge concerning martial arts. He is a TV buff. His favourite shows are soap operas and chat shows! He has a tendency to be vague when he talks, alluding to things in a slightly mysterious and cryptic way. He makes references to his past and involvement in clandestine event and operations for the government that sound like they’ve been lifted from The X-Files.
