What is Reiki?

Reiki is a Japanese word for Universal Life Energy. Reiki works as the therapist channels life energy through his/her hands over the relevant parts of the body. It’s a simple non-intrusive and extremely powerful process. It works on an emotional, spiritual and physical level. Reiki is a healing art form promoting relaxation and well-being for the body and mind.

What happens at a Reiki session?
You relax, fully clothed, on a massage table/seat while the healer holds his hands on or above you. There is no pressure on the body so Reiki is ideal for treating all ages and conditions. The energy flows wherever it is required (spiritually guided) and can normally be felt as a warm sensation or tingling in the body. Receiving Reiki is a very relaxing and soothing experience – As the energy comes into balance, stress and tension is released and there is a deep sense of relaxation and a feeling of well being- you may even fall asleep.
