. I have spent a lot of money, time and effort getting this bike to the high standard it is now, all because someone couldn't be arsed to wash the winter salt off it now and again...........muppet!
List of things done is long, £60 spent on nuts and bolts alone, engine full service, high quality semi synthetic oil (silkolene), front forks stripped, new seals and fresh oil put in them, rear wheel sand blasted and powder coated, rear swing arm, same again with new rear wheel bearings, transmission casing, sand blasted and powder coated, new drive belt. Rear grab rail, sand blasted and powder coated. Upgraded rear shocks to newer model type (Paoli), New rear brake cable, hideous job, every bit of bodywork needs taking off for that alone. The exhausts on these are prone to rusting and falling apart, I had this ones shot blasted and it came back looking like swiss cheese, they are hideously expensive to replace,(over £330), so it was sent off to an engineering company for welding up and repairing, I then resprayed it with heatproof paint. The exhaust gueards were chrome, but again because the previous owner couldn't be bothered to wast the road salt off it now and again they had corroded and rusted onto the exhaust, every one of the seven small bolts holding them on snapped off so every one had to be drilled out and heli coilied back in.
Most of the body work has been resprayed after previous owner tried to tidy the bike up and made it look a lot worse instead. The bike came with a taller screen which in my opinion looked bloody awfull so I replaced it with a standard screen which looks far better, I still have the taller screen if you want to look like your grandad on a bike.
The bike will come with a years MOT, service history, red immobilisor key and a stack of old MOT's. Peugeot are one of the very few bikes with a factory fitted immobilisor, also has the brilliant Boa lock incorporated into the bike which is why these are so cheap to insure, tax £15 a year, and very economical. I've probably missed some things out, so much has been done, it looks like new, no cracks, gouges out of bodywork.
Just took it for a run for the first time since I finished rebuilding it (in the garage at 6 this morning working on it), very impressed how quick it pulls away, roomy, comfortable and everything works as it should. I know I'm asking top money for this, I also know you can get cheaper ones but this is like new and I will be making a loss on it but its been a challenge. Any further questions please call.
I know I've rattled on a bit, but finally, no chancers, no swaps, no negotiating on price, I'll keep it rather than lose any more on it so dont waste my time or yours with offers and swaps. Cheers
